The North Norfolk coast line, is designated as being of outstanding natural beauty. Blakeney National Nature Reserve, Sheringham Park, and the Brancaster Estate are all within a short distance.
Gunthorpe is located within the heart of Norfolk's best birdwatching area being some six miles from the nationally renowned reserve at Cley and Pensthorpe whilst Titchwell is within easy distance too.
Gunthorpe is a conservation village set in the Glaven Valley close to the North Norfolk coast; (Blakeney Point 5 miles) and the Georgian market town of Holt (6 miles)
The Parish Church of Saint Mary stands on its own at the northern end while to the west lies Gunthorpe Hall built in 1778, originally designed by Sir John Soane, overlooks picturesque parkland with its lake and herd of deer.
There are attractive footpaths all around and beyond the dismantled railway line at the southern end of the parish is reputed to be Norfolk’s second highest point.
